FAQs

What is Educate Online?
Educate Online, LLC — formerly Catapult Online — is a leading provider of online educational instruction. Our program is designed to help students learn key concepts, fill learning gaps, and get on track for academic success. Educate Online is committed to being the preferred partner of schools, school districts, and families by delivering unmatched quality and engaging online educational services that improve student achievement.

What makes Educate Online different from other Supplemental Educational Services programs?
  • At-home convenience and safety
  • Our programs aren’t taught through games or software; students receive personal attention from live, U.S.-based, state-certified teachers
  • Educate Online identifies your child's specific needs before the program starts and creates a personalized learning plan based on those needs
  • Educate Online tutoring takes place on a computer that we provide

Is Educate Online "one-on-one"?
Yes. During each session, your child spends one-on-one time with a certified instructor who teaches and tests new skills. There may be one to two other students who are taught by the same teacher, but each student works on their own lessons, and they cannot interact with each other.

What qualifications do Educate Online teachers have to teach my child?
All Educate Online teachers are U.S. state-certified with years of successful classroom teaching experience. Because our instruction is online, Educate Online is able to select the finest teachers from across the United States, regardless of where they live. All teachers are fingerprinted and go through a rigorous background check prior to any session with a student.

Do I need any special equipment to be able to use Educate Online?
All you need is an electrical outlet and a working home phone line. Educate Online supplies everything else required for the program, including a computer and an Internet connection. (Note: we ship one computer per household per two years.)

What happens if my child does not complete the program?
Educate Online tries to ensure a successful program for every enrolled student. We will alert you if attendance is proving to be an issue for your child.

Can my child use the computer to surf the Web?
No. While your child is enrolled with Educate Online, the computer is locked down to prevent any uses other than tutoring.

How will I know that my child is making progress?
Educate Online gives parents 24-7 access to their child's progress reports online, so you always know how your child is doing.

Will the program help my child in the classroom?
Educate Online's programs are designed to boost your child's classroom learning. Students who receive our Supplemental Educational Services and tutoring instruction usually show more confidence and interest in the classroom. And our education team aligns our curriculum with your state's standards, which can help kids improve their grades and do better on homework.

How often will my child have tutoring sessions?
Your child will typically have two to four sessions per week, and you get to set the schedule that works best for your family. Sessions are available seven days a week at multiple times each day.

How many hours of service will my child receive?
That depends on the contract that Educate Online has with your school district. In most cases, children will receive between twenty and thirty-six hours of instruction.

If I have a question about the program, is there someone I can contact?
Yes! You can call our toll-free parent help-line at 1-866-983-3822. We're available seven days a week to help you.
